We charge £270 (including
VAT) for the use of the building per wedding, all of which goes
towards its maintenance. This is no extra charge for time you may
need to prepare the building or rehearse there the day before, subject
to fitting in with the timing of any other wedding taking place
there. For access to the Temple, please call caretaker Shelley Walker
on 01463 741013.
As regards other aspects of your wedding at Belladrum, Susan Kirkness
of Highland Wedding Bells,
susan@bruach88.fsnet.co.uk
or 13A Londubh, Poolewe, Ross-shire IV22 2LD telephone 01445 781330
provides an excellent overall service. She knows the Temple well
– you can book it at the same price through her or direct
with ourselves – and she can arrange legal necessities such
as registrar procedures, priest or minister, piper, flowers, reception,
cars or carriage and accommodation.
A non-refundable deposit of £50 is required in order to confirm
your booking of the Temple. For bookings direct through ourselves
(it is the same price to book via Susan), the balance is payable
four weeks before the wedding day. To get married in Scotland, there
is a legal requirement that you inform the local registrar in advance.
The paraffin or gas heater in the Temple will be lit two hours before
your service.
The Temple is consecrated as Scottish Episcopalian. However, we
allow services from any sect of Christianity or humanism to take
place there. The Temple is not as yet registered for civil weddings.
If you choose not to use Susan, we are able to provide some local
contact information but we are not able to help with a priest.
If you are thinking of staying locally, you may find one of our
romantic two-person cottages ideal. Tigh Romach (code UMR) or Gardener’s
(SXM) are very popular with people who marry or honeymoon here.
You can book them by calling our agents Scottish Country Cottages
on 0870 191 7710 or see our individual cottage pages for a direct
e-mailing link.
